"Perhaps they are not stars, but rather openings in heaven where the love of our lost ones pours thorough and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy." Eskimo Proverb Our love and prayers are with you. Love, Rob and Leigh

~Marcel Proust~ People do not die for us immediately, but remain bathed in a sort of aura of life which bears no relation to true immortality but through which they continue to occupy our thoughts in the same way as when they were alive. It is as though they were traveling abroad. The Mexican Family.

There are no words, that can take off your loss.
There are no words to give you comfort.
There are a lot of people, you think of your family.
I have my thoughts very often on your family.
I wish you strength to continue living with all the good memories and energy, that Tim left with you.
My warm regards, Sakke

In times like these, when I sometimes have no idea what to say or share, I suddenly remembered a poem that my grandmother (who also fought cancer, usually winning) always loved from English poet James Henry Leigh Hunt (1784-1859), and which was my pleasure to read at her service a few years ago. (Apologies for the English rather than Nederlands, and even moreso for the poetic older style English.) I think it's a retelling of a Middle Ages-era Sufi poem by Farid Ud-Din Attar, which itself may be based on an even older story contemplating the relationship between a human being, the people around us, and the larger, perhaps unknowable things surrounding us. In the middle of experiences that I have trouble comprehending, I have found my grandmother's favorite poem to be quite a comfort, and I hope it may provide a small measure of the same to Tim's friends and family. - Jim --Rippie

Abou Ben Adhem
-------------------
Abou Ben Adhem (may his tribe increase!) Awoke one night from a deep dream of peace, And saw, within the moonlight in his room, Making it rich, and like a lily in bloom, An Angel writing in a book of gold:
Exceeding peace had made Ben Adhem bold, And to the Presence in the room he said, "What writest thou?" The Vision raised its head, And with a look made of all sweet accord Answered, "The names of those who love the Lord."
"And is mine one?" said Abou. "Nay, not so," Replied the Angel. Abou spoke more low, But cheerily still; and said, "I pray thee, then, Write me as one who loves his fellow men."
The Angel wrote, and vanished. The next night It came again with a great wakening light, And showed the names whom love of God had blessed, And, lo! Ben Adhem's name led all the rest!

In life we work toward our dreams, guided by tender desire for those who love. Shockfire gave a brilliant light to that so dear to his heart, a guide for all that is good in this beautiful and fragile world we share for just a moment. Thank you Tim! An admirer, Patrick H.

Tim: Somewhere between the sun and the moon Sunbeams will fill the day Day in, day out Maybe the sun is not always visible, Veiled behind the clouds. Still, even then The sun is giving That day light! Daylight! In the night Sunbeams, reflecting on the moon The sun invisible For us, hidden in the dark Still, even then The sun is giving That night light! Nightlight! Tim, You are somewhere between the sun and the moon And maybe there it is Day or night Night or day There is no darkness Forever there is Nightlight / daylight Light - Tim - Light Love from Huizen

Dag lieve Tim. Bye sweet Tim, they’re too quickly over - the many dreams, unfair is the destiny that now has come Somewhere between sun and moon, you will continue living. You fought your battle bravely, and as bravely you accepted it, unfortunately futile. Rest in peace. Marijke (Tim's sister)

I have a lot of fun memories with Tim as kids...and even more fun memories as adults. And even though we are continents apart, I hope you feel our love and sorrow for his passing. He left us too soon in life...before we could share more memories together. We love and miss him dearly and offer our sincere condolences to all. With love, Amber & Dane

Tim was challenging, insightful, extremely capable and quick. More than a technologist or programmer, he always seemed to have such an easy time grasping the complex as a means to do what he wanted, just for the fun of it. When I was talking about visions and dreams, he would go code it and show me, rather than talking about how to do it. I have been impressed so many times by him. Even before I 'knew' him, I was a fan of Tim's work for WorldWind. Everyone had a very clear idea that Tim was a step beyond and had great things in store. He is an inspiration to me to go do things and act on ideas, but with a very clear priority to be 'real" about it. I am very happy to have met him as a collaborator and friend. Om
